The Records on "Foreign Politics" held in the National Archives of Naples make it possible to document the duties carried out by Francesco Bigani , Neapolitan consul of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies based in Bastia between 1790-1791 and 1794-1798. In the reports he prepared, Bigani provided a detailed description of the events shaking Corsica during the French Revolution and the political action carried out by Pasquale Paoli, in particular, during the most controversial period (1791-1794). Also, the documents that Bigani has handed us down can help to throw some light on the close links the consul established with the representatives of the most eminent families of Bastia, involved in the revolutionary process.Downloads
