This essay examines the heraldic coat of arms found in Cagliari, in the portal of the Brondo-Zapata palace. The owner of the shield, Don Antonio Brondo, had it depicted in great detail in the tympanum of the portal. What is interesting to examine, however, is the heraldic composition, as well as the individual partitions and the relationship with the genealogy. Indeed, not all quarters of the coat of arms have been clearly identified or defined. The essay attempts to offer initial answers to the questions that this coat of arms poses to scholars.
