Heraldry has also been frequently used in literature. Heraldic language thus proves to be anoriginal literary element and a precious source for the study of even more peripheral and less universally known families and people. This is the case of the two poetic compositions examined in this essay, which proved to be a precious source for the reconstruction of the heraldic customs of the families of Anghiari.
