This essay constitutes a first attempt to analyze the proposals developed by Don Giovannino Pinna, an Italian priest who died almost ten years ago for an incurable disease, on the education of young generations and their families in the years between the end of the twentieth century and early 2000s. The study starts from the analysis of the results emerged in 1994 from the socio-religious survey carried out in the diocese of Ales-Terralba, in Sardinia, the first conducted in Italy at a diocesan level, and then It continues with the reading of some articles published in the monthly Insieme between 2004 and 2009. The prevalent theme is the crisis of the value system that involves young people and their families, with the proposal of new possible paths to follow, also at the parish level, to resolve what don Pinna defines as an “educational emergency”.
