Despite the introduction of new drugs and the expansion of the cocaine market, heroin remains a drug that is permanently present in illegal markets. Its significant dangeris reflected in the current prevalence of users in the public services as a result of dependence on other drugusers, the predominant share of deaths caused by the substance and a still significant volume of business. In this article, after illustrating the quantitative picture of the phenomenon through the available sources, focusing on the case of Sardinia, we tried an economic estimate of the business of the heroin market in the island.
