This paper aims to investigate a legend concerning the Cueva Cerdaña, a karst cave located in the Province of Castellón (Comunitat Valenciana), occupied for human activities in the Bronze Age and, due to its characteristics, used as a cave-sanctuary for female deities worship during the Iberian era. The legend tells of a sibyl from Sardinia who lived in the cave, therefore testifying, in the oral tradition of the area, the knowledge of defined facets of Sardinian Prehistory. The article analyses texts and documents, probing the established links between Sardinia and the Province of Castellón in order to shed light on the legend.
