This article intent is to present an introductory comparison between Marxist thinkers José Carlos Mariátegui (Peru) and Antonio Gramsci (Italy). It is about indicating affinities in relevant dimensions of his political and intellectual trajectory, such as: the environment of intellectual formation, centered on the Italian philosophical debate of the second decade of the 20th century; the influence represented by the rise of fascism in his works and the specific dialogue with the French philosopher Georges Sorel; the debate on the national organization of culture and the role of intellectuals; class analysis from the perspective of the relationship between big capital and backward agricultural formations; the classist articulation between countryside and city.Downloads
