The article discusses Sardinian emigration in South America, a phenomenon that was initially insignificant as it was mainly from northern regions of Italy. During the second half of the 19th century, this phenomenon extended to the south and by the end of the 19th century, Sardinia as well. There it brought a bit of relief, especially towards Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, to the point of piquing the interest of several including the press, local authorities and a young institution - the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari, which played a positive role in the connection between the island and the New World.Downloads
