This essay deals with the phenomenon of direct emmigration from Sedilo, a small farmer village in the centre of Sardinia, to Latin America, mostly to Brazil and Argentina, between the end of the 19th century and the early decades of the 20th. Written sources belonging to the Category XIII ("foreign") files of the local City Archive have been analyzed; private written sources from the descendants' families, bibliographic or journalistic documents and direct oral reports have also been included in the research.Downloads
