Dalla Sardegna alla guerra di Spagna, passando per la Corsica
Keywords:
anti-fascist emigration, Spanish Civil War, Corsica, Sardegna, Sardinian emigration to CorsicaAbstract
During the Fascist period, many Sardinians emigrated to Corsica for political reasons, following a tradition dating back to the nineteenth century, mainly from the northern part of Sardinia. This flow was facilitated by the proximity of the two islands, separated by the narrow Bonifacio Strait. This article describes the anti-fascist activities of Sardinian immigrants and of those who settled in Corsica for economic reasons in those decades. The final part deals with the activity of some Sardinians who moved to Spain to enlist and fight in the ranks of the International Brigades.Downloads
