The phenomenon of anti-fascist exile movement from Sardinia is quite complex, being a partial aspect of emigration from Sardinia between the World Wars. Historical research has been recently paying it a somewhat new and more de serving attention, starting from the individual biographies of the anti-fascists. This article highlights a particular case of antifascist emigration to France: the so-called "Brotherhood of Longwy," a solidarity network between Sardinian anti-fascists who lived in a French mining area in the second half of the '30s, kept under strict observation by the Italian Police after the publication of the list of subscribers in favour of Republican Spain on "Justice and Freedom" of April 30,1937. Many of them were members or simply supported the Sardinian "Brotherhood."Downloads
